Spring Fever

Boy do we ever have Spring Fever around the Abel house right now.  From tank tops and flip-flops being worn to baseball practice starting up this week!  YEAH, is all I can say!  We did the "Run the Reagan" this past Saturday and Jason ran the 10K.  I can't even begin to tell you how extreamly proud of him I am.  I mean really he ran a 10K in like 50 minutes. Seriously!  I know that might not be a big deal to everyone out there but for this gal here who can't even run to the mailbox it's huge!!  Go ahead and give him a shout out please.  After that Jason went home to work on some schoolwork and I took the kids to Stone Mountain to kick off a beautiful weekend.  We had a blast riding the train and yes I let them play in the water, which was freezing btw.  They played for ever and of course acted like it was 100 degrees outside.  Can't wait for more trips there to hike up and play.

Baseball practice started on Tuesday night and Grayson was pumped about it.  He was running and jumping all around the house singing, "Yeah, baseball practice, Yeah!  We're going to baseball pratice. Yeah!  I'm gonna hit that ball so hard!"  Hilarious, Jason and I were laughing so hard.  The only image I can explain is to picture Steve Carell as a 5 year old  4 yr old.  Motions were also included in this song at no extra charge.

Today Grayson turns 5.  Yep, my baby boy is now 5 and soooo grown up.  Seriously the smartest 5 yr old I've ever known (sorry, no impartial judges available at the time of this draft)!  How time flies though. He is just a spunge soaking everything up more now than ever before I think.  This morning he was asking me about Abraham Lincoln and George Washinton Carver.  I got a full run down of who they are and what they meant to America.  Thank you Mrs.Peek!  I don't remember learning that in pre-K, but I'm also positive I wasn't reading then either.  Also this morning he read me an entire book, so what if it was "Go, Dog, Go!"  Next up "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish"  He is kind, when he wants to be, careing, loving, and very giving.  Grayson I am so lucky to be called your mommy.  I love you and feel so blessed to have you as my son!  Your compassion for others overwhelms sometimes.  God is working in you and through you like crazy right now.  I pray it continues.
