Wow, whoever first said "I need a vacation from my Vacation!" was dead on! We had a blast but I was more worn out than the kids. I had to put them down for naps just so I had some down time myself. We started our trip off right with some fried pickles that I thought our children would just love since they both adore pickles. Grayson found the lemons much more appetizing and Colbie just wanted the ranch dressing by itself. When I asked if I could take her picture she promptly looked me in the eye and responded with a firm "NO!"
We took a mini-tour of Savannah but accident while we were looking for the Bonaverture Cemetery. While we were trying to find just were we went wrong Grayson pipes up from the backseat, "Mommy (in a high pitched almost deafening tone) guess what I saw?"
"Mommy I saw a lion and he was shooting something out of his mouth. We can get a lion's head and hang it on our door and put the hose up to it so it can shoot something into a bowl on the door at our house!"
To which Jason and I both replied, "umm okay, be quiet while mommy and daddy try to look for a certain road please."
"But mommy we really can get one!"
"Okay Grayson", I said hoping it would make him move on to another subject. How bad did I feel about 3 hours later, after the cemetery, after lunch on River Street, on our way out of Savannah when we stop at a red light and I look out my window and see..........
Yep, that's right. He knew exactly what he was talking about the whole time!
I couldn't wait to take the kids to the beach once we got there. I use to love the beach as a child and I was prepared to pack a cooler and campout on the sand all day long. Grayson and Colbie whoever had other plans. These are the only pictures I got of them the whole week on the beach.
They both loved the pool so we spent most of our time hanging out by the pool letting them go up and down the stairs, in and out, in and out. Totally could have done that at Paw-Paw and Gog's pool, but what fun would that be. Grayson enjoyed riding sitting in the bike trailer while Jason pedaled around the island. We rode our bikes to the General Store and got ice cream. The guys also went for an early morning ride along the beach sans the girls while we slept in. Colbie of course was for the most park just along for the ride but she got into the Pirate Cruise in full costume (after Grayson was done with it of course)!
Some of our other favorites while in Hilton Head were:
- the Shannon Tanner show - a favorite of mine since we went to when I was little (he sings for the kids but with a parental twist on most of it)

| "Baaaby" as she calls her went pretty much everywhere with us. |
- Shark fishing
- junk food EVERYDAY!
- pool
- shopping!! Okay, so this was only a favorite of mommy's but daddy was more than willing to entertain the kids while I shopped. I' still not sure if it was him being nice of just getting out of shopping him me.
Seriously, I had such a wonderful week with our little family I am already looking forward to next year. It was so nice to be able to kick back and not really plan anything until that moment. I am so grateful the Lord has blessed Jason and I with these two beautiful children. My heart is overwhelmed!

Um, that is HILARIOUS! I don't know which picture's my favorite-the one of them making out or Colbie in an eyepatch! Ha! They're the sweetest!
They are so cute! I agree though, vacation with kids is exhausting! I read somewhere that you take "Vacations" before kids and "Trips" after....so true! :) love seeing all the pics of your sweet fam!! :)
