Deeper Still

Wow!  What an amazing weekend I am still coming down from.  A few of us from our small group took a little trip over to Birmingham to the women's conference Deeper Still.  Kay Arthur (who rocked some skinny jeans, bomber jacket, and some sweet boots at 77), Priscilla Shirer, and Beth Moore all together in one place....I thought the roof might blow off the building.  It was such an awesome experience to be able to attend.  The word of God was flowing in that building from the music to the teaching.

While each one had a wonderful message I would have to say the one that spoke to me the most was Priscilla Shirer's message.  She spoke on emptying you quiver before the Lord.  I felt that her message was just for me in that moment.  I have been sitting around wondering why God hasn't really "shown up" and revealed himself to me, shown me where to go, in which direction to follow Him.  And then as I'm sitting there listening to her she says this, "Could it be that you are sitting waiting on the Lord to work and show up but you aren't doing what He is asking you to do?"  Hmmm, could it be that I wasn't doing MY part?  Yes, actually that exactly what it is.  I do for the Lord when it is convenient to me.  I sprinkle Him into my life like a seasoning when He should be my whole life (which was a whole different point).  I always kind of have my Plan B or back up plan in case what He asks me to do doesn't work out.  And it dawns on me...seriously, Jessie who do you think you are that your plan B is going to be better than what Christ has in store for you. WAKE UP!  My prayer is that I would make Him my life and not just a small part of it.  Not just an added seasoning when I get a little bland but EVERYTHING!  My goal is to empty my quiver each day to Him, and give my all everyday so that one day I may hear, "Well done my child, Well done!"

Each of these ladies have many studies and books I can't wait to read now.  Oh, where to start?

I know what you mean! Bear & I both want to be part of the "Sisterhood of Empy Quivers"! (Well, maybe he doesn't want to be a sister...you know what I mean!) It was SO, SO good this weekend. I sent you the link to the blog on FB so check it when you get a chance. As for where to start studying, I have no idea. I've only actually done 2 Beth studies and both were awesome- Daniel & Esther. I highly recommend either one. I've never actually done a Priscilla one but want to do Jonah (duh) this summer. Beth's got one on James coming out in January that she's just finishing up on. (I think. That's from someone on the blog who'll be starting it in January. She may actually go to church with Beth and be part of the videos. I don't know.) I've done "Marriage Without Regrets" with Bear by Kay and "Lord, I Want to Know You". Again, both amazing. Not that any of that helps at all...
